Pengembangan Geopark Ciletuh Diharapkan Bisa Dorong Pertumbuhan Ekonomi

TODAY.ID | SUKABUMI – Pengembangan Geopark Ciletuh Palabuhanratu, Kabupaten Sukabumi diharapkan mampu mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi.

Wakil Bupati Sukabumi Iyos Somantri mengatakan, program yang telah diluncurkan PT Jamkrindo melalui berbagai kegiatan pemberdayaan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat harus menjadi motivasi dalam upaya pengembangan geopark.

“Semua pihak harus bisa mencontoh dan termotivasi dengan program yang telah diluncurkan PT Jamkrindo untuk warga yang tinggal di kawasan Geopark Ciletuh Palabuhanratu. Sebab, program ini sangat membantu Pemkab Sukabumi khususnya warga,” kata Iyos seusai menghadiri acara bedah buku Inspirasi Jamkrindo mendukung pilar pertumbuhan ekonomi dalam tujuan pembangunan. berkelanjutan di Sukabumi, Senin (30/8/2021).

Dia menjelaskan bahwa yang telah dilakukan perusahaan berstatus Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) ini tentunya sejalan dengan program yang diluncurkan Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Sukabumi dalam upaya pengembangan geopark melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat.

“Objek wisata berkelas internasional yang merupakan andalan yang menjadi kebanggaan Indonesia khususnya Kabupaten Sukabumi memiliki berbagai potensi yang bisa dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat yang tinggal di kawasan geopark, mulai dari sektor wisata, perikanan, kelautan, pertanian, olah raga hingga edukasi,” jelasnya.

Menurut Iyis, potensi ini harus bisa digali sebaik mungkin dan menjaganya dari kerusakan. Tentunya, dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya yang ada di geopark ini warga harus mendapatkan berbagai dukungan dan pendampingan seperti apa yang telah dilakukan oleh para personel PT Jamkrindo.

Selama menjalankan programnya dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, Iyos menilai, perusahaan ini dinilai berhasil memberdayakan masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan potensi yang ada seperti memberikan bantuan mesin pengolahan dan pengemasan mangga untuk dijadikan keripik. Sebelumnya harga mangga cukup rendah apalagi saat musim panen, tetapi dengan mengolahnya menjadi keripik, nilai jualnya meningkat.

Belum lagi pengembangan usaha lainnya seperti peternakan, perikanan, pertanian hingga homestay (rumah singgah) baik melalui bantuan fasilitas maupun kredit modal usaha yang bunganya sangat ringan serta bisa tanpa agunan ternyata mampu mendongkrak pendapatan warga.

“Warga maupun komunitas yang mendapatkan program dari Jamkrindo ini juga tidak hanya sebatas memanfaatkan potensi geopark, tetapi diberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan serta mencegah kerusakan berbagai objek yang ada di geopark,” tutupnya.(Jabarnews.com)
